| Bio: | As a note, the date listed for my birthday is my sobriety date. I'm in my 30s and have lived in my town my entire life. I have a great love for reading and working with my hands. I found out about my troubles with addiction in 2004 and was a member of SA until April 18th, 2007. I now go to SAA because I feel like I've taken a long journey away from my sexually addictive behavior and I need to further refine my baseline issues. SAA actually has provisions for these that are explicitly outlined, whereas SA doesn't really address those. Resources for addicts are readily available and links for them are listed below. Just remember...you're not alone. Resources: Sexaholics Anonymous - Defines your sobriety for you. Good for people who feel that their addiction is completely out of control. Sex Addicts Anonymous - Has a more open definition of sexual sobriety. Sex And Love Addicts Anonymous - Some people find these two addictions intertwined in their own lives and this group helps with that. Celebrate Recovery - This is Christian-based so may not be for all people, but I've seen some people recently join SA that also go to this group and it seems to work well for them, so it gets a mention. Sexual Anorexia - Fear of sex, especially with significant others. I did struggle with this for a while. S-Anon - For spouses and family members of sex addicts. We all need support when it comes to this disease. This is a branch group of SA. COSA - Another support group for significant others of addicts. This group is related to SAA, and my wife attends this group as well. | ||||
